STAR Events:
STAR Events (Students Taking Action with Recognition) are competitive events in which members are recognized
for proficiency and achievement in individual projects, leadership skills and
occupational preparation. STAR Events offers individual skill development
through the following:
- Cooperative: teams work to accomplish specific goals
- Individualized: members work alone to accomplish specific goals
- Competitive: individual or team performance measured by an established set of criteria
There are fourteen different events in which members may
participate. The primary goal of STAR Events is to help members develop specific
lifetime skills in character development, creative and critical thinking,
interpersonal communication, practical knowledge and vocational preparation.

Baking & Pastry (Pilot Event) |
An individual event
– recognizes participants
who are, or have been, enrolled in a comprehensive high school FCS foods
class for their ability to produce a pastry product using established food
preparation techniques. |
