Hello New York State FCCLA Advisors!

It is time to get started on the New York State FCCLA Advisor Recognition awards. There are two categories for you to choose from:

1. MASTER Advisor:
   The Master Adviser Award recognizes advisers who have been successful in: advising an affiliated chapter for a minimum of three years, promoting the organization, operating an integrated chapter with a balanced program of work, facilitating youth-centered activities, and keeping abreast of new happenings within the organization.

2. Advisor MENTOR:
   The Adviser Mentor Award recognizes advisers who have been successful in: achieving Master Adviser Recognition, devoting two years to new adviser assistance, assuming adult leadership roles in FCCLA, conducting adviser workshops, attending training workshops, and using national and state FCCLA resources.

Both awards must be completed by February 1, 2010. Now before you start making excuses let me tell you the opportunity I will give you as your Award Coach. I will send you assignments which take only a few minutes to complete on line. I will complete the application for you and request all of the support letters your application needs. I will package and send them to Karen before the deadline as well as send you a personal copy for your files. This was first initiated last year and we were very pleases as a state to have three individuals complete the programs and earn the awards.

Now it is up to you! Please send me your email address and state which award you are going to do. I will then send you assignments each week to complete. Together, we can make this award a reality for your portfolio this year.
